Bursa Malaysia Retreats as US Tariffs and Oil Risks Test Investor Confidence

Kuala Lumpur, 24 July 2026 – Bursa Malaysia ended broadly lower on Friday as investors assessed the effects of the latest United States tariffs, elevated crude oil prices and persistent uncertainty surrounding the global economic outlook.

The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI fell 13.57 points, or 0.79%, to close at 1,701.02, compared with Thursday’s close of 1,714.59. The benchmark opened 4.14 points weaker at 1,710.45 before trading between an intraday low of 1,697.76 and a high of 1,710.80.
