Singapore, 26 October 2026 – DBS Bank, Malayan Banking Berhad and the International Finance Corporation signed a memorandum with Ditrolic Energy to develop a financing and bankability framework for the US$6 billion Southern Johor Renewable Energy Corridor. The solar-and-battery initiative has received booking interest for nearly 90% of its proposed green-power capacity, according to the project developer.
The agreement matters to Asian infrastructure investors because it brings lenders into the project before a final investment decision, when regulatory, offtake and risk-allocation terms can still be shaped. The memorandum and stated capacity interest are confirmed, but financing has not been finalised. Interest from potential buyers is not the same as binding revenue, and the project still faces contracts, licences, permits and execution tests.
