Kuala Lumpur, 26 August 2026 – Pioneer Islamic financial institution Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad delivered a resilient financial scorecard for the second quarter ended 30 June 2026, posting a core net profit of RM139.12 million, propelled by steady net financing growth, expanding non-fund-based fee income, and disciplined operational cost management across its domestic retail and corporate commercial banking divisions.
The positive quarterly performance translates into a healthy return on equity (ROE) of 8.6%, with group revenue expanding 5.8% year-on-year to RM1.18 billion. Total gross financing assets grew by 6.2% annualized to surpass RM71.5 billion, anchored by sustained domestic demand for consumer house financing, auto financing, and commercial SME working capital facilities. Market sentiment was further bolstered by the bank’s disciplined net income margin (NIM) preservation, which remained stable at 2.12% despite heightened competition for domestic retail deposits.
