Anwar to Open Nikkei Future of Asia Forum as Malaysia-Japan Ties Deepen

Tokyo, 10 June 2026 – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is set to open the 31st Nikkei Forum “Future of Asia” in Tokyo, placing Malaysia at the centre of a major regional dialogue on Asia’s economic direction, geopolitical stability and future growth.

Anwar’s participation comes during his official working visit to Japan from June 8 to 10, where he is also scheduled to meet Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi. The visit is expected to further strengthen Malaysia-Japan relations under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership framework.
