The decision keeps scheduled transport diplomacy operating while Malaysia’s political leadership considers his position, separating immediate ministerial duties from the unresolved resignation process.
The meeting in Beijing is scheduled for 21 and 22 September and brings together Asia-Pacific transport ministers at a time when supply-chain resilience, aviation connectivity, ports and lower-carbon mobility are central to regional growth. Malaysia’s participation matters because trade competitiveness depends heavily on the cost and reliability of moving goods and people.
