California, 4 November 2026 – Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) is strengthening its position in the AI semiconductor market as growing demand for data centre computing creates opportunities beyond Nvidia’s established dominance.

AMD’s third-quarter data centre revenue increased 97% from a year earlier to US$8.55 billion, exceeding analysts’ expectations of approximately US$8.20 billion.

The company expects overall revenue to grow by more than 80% in 2027, supported by demand for server processors and AI products. Its shares rose approximately 7.3% in premarket trading on 4 November following the stronger outlook.

However, rapid revenue growth does not automatically establish that AMD has secured a lasting competitive advantage. The more important question is whether it can translate demand into sustainable market share and profitability.
