GYEONGJU, 31 October 2025 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is set to meet Nvidia president and chief executive officer Jensen Huang and YTL Power International Bhd managing director Datuk Seri Yeoh Seok Hong to review Malaysia’s artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure development on the sidelines of the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting (AELM), which begins on Friday.
Huang, who is expected to arrive in Gyeongju on Friday morning, will join Yeoh in updating the prime minister on the progress of the RM10 billion AI infrastructure project jointly developed by Nvidia and YTL Power. The partnership, announced in July, aims to position Malaysia as a regional AI hub supporting data-driven industries and next-generation digital services.
Earlier in the day, South Korean President Lee Jae Myung will welcome all APEC economic leaders, including Anwar, for an official reception and group photo session.
Anwar is scheduled to deliver Malaysia’s intervention during the APEC Economic Leaders’ Dialogue with Guests, focusing on inclusive supply-chain resilience, digital-economy growth, and regional cooperation for sustainable development.
His agenda also includes a meeting with the US APEC Business Coalition, followed by one-on-one discussions with Namhae Chemical Corp—South Korea’s leading fertiliser producer that accounts for more than 50% of the country’s agricultural output—and JS Link, a biotechnology firm specialising in genome analysis and R&D.
The day will conclude with the APEC Economic Leaders’ Dinner, followed by an exit press conference.
Malaysia is one of APEC’s 12 founding members alongside Australia, Brunei, Canada, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand. Today, APEC’s 21 economies represent nearly three billion people, accounting for 62% of global GDP and 48% of world trade in 2021.
