Kuala Lumpur, 10 October 2025 — Colform Group Berhad (“Colform” or “the Group”), a leading steel and building material specialist headquartered in East Malaysia, has announced the acquisition of a 99-year leasehold industrial land parcel in Pulau Indah Industrial Park (PIIP), Klang, Selangor, for a total cash consideration of RM25.2 million.
The acquisition was made through its wholly owned subsidiary, Colform Sdn Bhd (“CSB”), via a Sale and Purchase Agreement (SPA) with Central Spectrum (M) Sdn Bhd, the master developer of PIIP. The move marks a significant milestone in Colform’s strategic expansion into Peninsular Malaysia as part of its long-term growth strategy to strengthen its manufacturing presence, enhance operational efficiency, and expand market access.
Strategic Expansion to Peninsular Malaysia
The acquired land, measuring approximately 29,595 square metres, will be developed into Colform’s new production and operations facility, complete with a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant and integrated office complex. The new facility will serve as the Group’s central regional hub, enabling improved logistics coordination and faster delivery to clients across Peninsular Malaysia.
Located within the well-established Pulau Indah Industrial Park, the site offers prime connectivity and infrastructure advantages. Its proximity to Port Klang’s West Port and North Port, major highways such as the Shah Alam Expressway (KESAS) and South Klang Valley Expressway (SKVE), as well as Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and Subang Airport, provides Colform with optimal logistical efficiency to support its national operations.
“This acquisition represents a strategic milestone for Colform as we scale our presence into Peninsular Malaysia,” said Mr. Kang Ket Hung, Managing Director of Colform Group Berhad. “With this expansion, we will be able to streamline logistics, improve cost efficiency, and strengthen our delivery network to better serve customers across the country. The Pulau Indah location offers exceptional accessibility and growth potential, making it the ideal site for our next phase of expansion.”
Riding the Wave of Construction Growth
According to the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM), the total value of construction work done in Malaysia reached RM86.8 billion in the first half of 2025, a 14.7% year-on-year increase. Of this, RM71.8 billion was contributed by Peninsular Malaysia (including Labuan), reaffirming the region’s dominance in national construction and infrastructure activity.
This steady growth trend is expected to drive continued demand for downstream steel and building materials, directly benefitting Colform’s core business segments. The Group’s expansion into Pulau Indah is therefore strategically timed to capture new market opportunities arising from large-scale infrastructure, industrial, and property development projects throughout the region.
Strengthening the Steel Value Chain and Market Reach
With its proven track record in East Malaysia, Colform’s expansion into the central region will enable it to broaden its customer base, enhance its production capabilities, and diversify revenue streams. The new facility is also expected to strengthen its integrated steel value chain, encompassing manufacturing, distribution, and project support services across Malaysia.
“We see this as more than just a land acquisition, it’s an investment in Colform’s future,” Mr. Kang added. “Our goal is to build a sustainable and scalable presence that supports Malaysia’s ongoing infrastructure development and industrial growth, while delivering long-term value to our stakeholders.”
Upon completion, the Pulau Indah facility will become a cornerstone of Colform’s nationwide operational expansion, solidifying its reputation as a key player in Malaysia’s construction materials supply chain.
