ASNB Declares RM896 Million Income Distribution for ASM 3 — Benefits Over 717,000 Unitholders

KUALA LUMPUR, 29 September 2025 — Amanah Saham Nasional Berhad (ASNB), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB), today announced it will distribute RM896.01 million in income for its fixed price fund Amanah Saham Malaysia 3 (ASM 3) for the financial year ending 30 September 2025. The payout will benefit 717,446 unitholders, who in aggregate hold 19.16 billion units of the fund.

The declared income equates to 4.75 sen per unit—the same rate distributed in the prior fiscal year—reflecting ASNB’s aim to maintain income stability amid market volatility.

ASNB noted that ASM 3 outperformed its benchmark, the Maybank 12-Month Fixed Deposit rate (2.40 %), by 235 basis points for the period up to 24 September 2025.

Income for the fund is generated from a combination of realised capital gains, dividend yield, and other income sources from domestic and international asset holdings.

Per ASNB’s system, units held by unitholders based on their average minimum monthly balance, as opposed to end-of-year holdings, underpin the entitlement. The distribution will be automatically reinvested as additional units on 1 October 2025.

To facilitate the distribution and internal processing, ASNB has temporarily suspended transactions for ASM 3 via all branches, agents, and online channels from 28 to 30 September 2025. Normal trading and unit applications will resume on 1 October 2025 via the myASNB portal, its mobile app, and other standard outlets.

Context & Significance

ASM 3 is one of several fixed-price mixed asset funds under the ASNB/PNB umbrella, designed to provide stable income while preserving capital, especially suited for conservative or income-oriented investors.

Last fiscal year, ASM 3 declared RM837.89 million, also at 4.75 sen per unit, benefitting 650,487 unitholders. The stable unit rate this year suggests ASNB aims to maintain consistency and investor confidence rather than increasing yield under uncertain conditions.

In a market environment where equity indices may fluctuate and fixed-income rates are under pressure, maintaining a steady income payout provides a compelling anchor for unitholders, especially for those seeking predictable yields.

For large or institutional investors tracking cash flow returns, the RM896 million distribution reinforces ASM 3’s role as a sizeable income pool, worthy of inclusion in balanced portfolios.

However, investors should remain mindful that the yield is supported by ASNB’s overall portfolio performance—if capital markets or dividend income weakens, sustaining future payouts at this level may become more challenging.
