NEW YORK, 22 September 2025 — Neptune Insurance, a U.S. flood insurance provider based in St. Petersburg, Florida, is preparing a US$368.4 million initial public offering (IPO) on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker “NP”, targeting a valuation of up to US$2.76 billion.
Neptune plans to offer approximately 18.4 million shares at a price range of US$18 to US$20 each. Cornerstone investors including T. Rowe Price Investment Management and AllianceBernstein have expressed interest in acquiring up to US$75 million of the planned issuance. The underwriting is being handled by Morgan Stanley, J.P. Morgan, and BofA Securities.
Founded in 2018, Neptune specialises in residential and commercial flood insurance, partnering with carriers and reinsurers to provide coverage across all 50 states and Washington, D.C. Its underwriting platform “Triton” uses AI and data analytics to assess risk; to date, Neptune has achieved a lifetime written loss ratio of about 24.7%, even through recent adverse flood events. For the year ending December 2024, revenue was US$119.3 million, with net income of US$34.6 million.
Investor Implications
The IPO comes amid growing investor appetite for companies exposed to climate risk solutions, particularly private flood insurance, as extreme weather events rise in frequency and severity. Neptune positions itself as a nimble alternative to the U.S. government’s National Flood Insurance Program.
For investors, critical markers will be Neptune’s ability to manage underwriting losses during catastrophic flood events, the scalability of its risk models, and whether revenue growth can outpace exposure. Strong cornerstone backing suggests institutional confidence, but valuation sustainability will depend on profitability resilience and growth execution.
