Kuala Lumpur, 4 November 2026 – AWS has launched Semarak AI Malaysia, a programme spanning public services, businesses and community skills as the country seeks to broaden the adoption of artificial intelligence. The initiative is organised around three pillars: AI Negara for public-sector use, AI Ekonomi for businesses and AI Rakyat for communities. The programme brings together existing partnerships and new targets rather than announcing a single new investment amount.

The pilot begins with 500 developers in 2026, with a target of reaching 4,000 by 2028. AWS also said it would put Amazon Quick into the hands of up to 445,000 government officers. The scale of that ambition makes adoption, training, data controls and measurable service improvements central to judging the programme’s impact.
