Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 4 November 2026 – Malaysia’s Ministry of Human Resources has given employers of domestic workers until 7 December 2026 to meet Social Security Organisation contribution obligations after preliminary checks identified 10,033 non-compliant employers. The latest reported figures include 864 high-profile individuals, among them prominent figures, members of Parliament and state assembly members.
For business leaders and household employers, the announcement places personal employment responsibilities alongside broader expectations of labour compliance. The ministry says enforcement is intended to secure workers’ protection, not simply collect penalties. The 864 figure forms part of the 10,033 total; a separate 26,669 employer records still require checks and should not be treated as an additional confirmed offence count.
