His message at the Professional Conference and Exhibition on 29 September was not a new spending programme or regulatory mandate. It was a call for expertise to be paired with ethical judgment and a wider understanding of how policy affects people and institutions.
In a speech delivered in Kuala Lumpur, Anwar linked professional capability to the country’s growth ambitions. Qualified specialists can help raise productivity, he argued, but the value of their work depends on whether institutions are better run and ordinary Malaysians can see improvements in employment, education, healthcare and the environment. For investors, that distinction matters: a strong skills base supports growth only when it can turn plans into reliable services and projects.
