Kuala Lumpur, 22 September 2026 – Malaysia’s Social Security Organisation has issued more than 2,000 compound notices to employers since July for failures involving registration or mandatory contributions. Deputy chief executive Azirruan Arifin said the enforcement covered obligations under the Employees’ Social Security Act, Employment Insurance Act and Self-Employment Social Security Act. The notices highlight a recurring operating risk for businesses that treat payroll compliance as an administrative afterthought.
During Ops Kesan 2.0 on 22 September, officers had conducted 159 checks nationwide and issued 14 notices by 11.30am. Those were interim figures, not the final tally for the day. Around 300 officers from 54 offices were involved, with checks targeting employers, platform providers and self-employed workers. The operation’s scope shows that scrutiny is extending beyond conventional salaried workplaces.
