Sydney, 21 September 2026 – Australian data-centre operator Firmus is preparing to launch an initial public offering on 6 October that could raise A$7 billion, or about US$5 billion, placing the transaction among the largest equity offerings globally in 2026. The deal will test whether public investors are willing to fund the capital-intensive infrastructure behind artificial intelligence at a scale rarely seen in Australia’s market.
The institutional bookbuild is scheduled to open on 6 October and close the following day, with the prospectus expected on 8 October. Retail investors are due to bid between 12 and 19 October, and trading on the Australian Securities Exchange is planned for 22 October. The timetable is ambitious and concentrates pricing, disclosure and market-risk decisions into a short period.
