Singapore, 16 September 2026 – Malaysia is projected to deliver average annual real economic growth of 4.3% between 2026 and 2035, according to a regional outlook by Bain & Company, DBS Bank and Vriens & Partners. The report, From Tailwinds to Trade-Offs: Southeast Asia Outlook 2026–2035, puts average annual growth across Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam at 4.8%. Malaysia’s estimate is therefore below the regional baseline, although the authors identify semiconductor manufacturing, data centres and artificial intelligence-related investment as important sources of potential upside.
