Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 18 August 2026 – Malaysia’s online job market softened in the second quarter, with advertised positions declining even as the number of companies posting vacancies edged higher. The data points to a more selective hiring environment rather than a broad collapse in employer demand.
Online job offerings fell 11.4% to 555,509 in the second quarter of 2026 from 626,816 in the preceding quarter. At the same time, the number of companies advertising openings rose marginally to 79,510 from 79,499. More employers were recruiting, but each was posting fewer positions on average.
