Malaysia Awards 42 Renewable Energy Projects Worth RM4.3 Billion

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 11 August 2026 – Malaysia has approved 42 renewable-energy projects expected to attract RM4.3 billion in investment, advancing biogas, biomass and small-hydropower capacity under the latest feed-in tariff bidding programme.

The projects have a combined net export capacity of 331 megawatts. The sustainable-energy authority received 48 applications representing 370.480 megawatts during the bidding window from 10 February to 17 March, indicating strong interest in smaller-scale renewable generation linked to domestic resources.
