Malaysia Economy Ministry to Finalise 2027 Development Budget Proposals by Mid-August

George Town, 10 August 2026 – Malaysia’s Economy Ministry is finalizing its development expenditure proposals for the 2027 Budget and expects to complete comprehensive project screening by mid-August before submitting formal recommendations to the Ministry of Finance. Speaking to reporters on Monday, Economy Minister Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir stated that the evaluation process marks a crucial milestone in formulating the Second Rolling Plan (RP2) under the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP), aligning public infrastructure allocations directly with long-term national economic priorities.
