EDITOR'S PICKMalaysia Doubles Presence on Asia’s Best Under A Billion List as AI Investment Expands

Kuala Lumpur, 4 August 2026 – Malaysia has more than doubled its representation on the 2026 Best Under A Billion list, with 19 publicly traded companies recognised among Asia-Pacific’s strongest-performing small and midsized businesses.

The expanded Malaysian presence was attributed largely to the country’s growing artificial intelligence infrastructure ecosystem. More than half of the Malaysian companies selected were reported to have benefited from investments in data centres, semiconductors and the supporting industrial supply chain.
