FBM KLCI Stages Weak Rebound as Surging Oil Prices Heighten Inflation Concerns

Kuala Lumpur, 23 July 2026 – The Malaysian equity market opened marginally higher on Thursday, but its recovery remained subdued as surging oil prices, renewed inflation concerns and weakness across global technology shares kept investors cautious.

The FBM KLCI gained 3.01 points to 1,714.38 at the opening bell, attempting to recover after accumulating losses over the previous three trading sessions. The modest advance suggested that investors remained reluctant to take aggressive positions while external risks continued to cloud the market outlook.
