Bursa Malaysia Turns Higher at Midday as Stronger Q2 GDP Lifts Blue Chips

Kuala Lumpur, 17 July 2026 – Bursa Malaysia reversed early losses to trade higher at the midday break after Malaysia’s economy expanded faster than expected in the second quarter, encouraging selective buying in banking and heavyweight counters.

At 12.30pm, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI gained 4.62 points, or 0.27%, to 1,726.81 from Thursday’s close of 1,722.19.
