Bursa Malaysia Retreats After Higher Open as Geopolitical Tension Weighs on Sentiment

Kuala Lumpur, 29 June 2026 – Bursa Malaysia opened higher on Monday but quickly retreated as cautious investor sentiment returned, tracking weaker overnight performance on Wall Street and renewed concerns over geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.

The benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI opened 1.04 points higher at 1,668.78 before slipping 5.70 points to 1,662.04 by 9.10am, compared with Friday’s close of 1,667.74.
