Kuala Lumpur, 11 June 2026 – SME Bank has empowered nearly 1,000 asnaf entrepreneurs nationwide through its iTEKAD ISHRAF programme, generating about RM40 million in income and supporting the creation of 410 jobs since its implementation in 2020.
The programme, implemented under Bank Negara Malaysia’s iTEKAD social finance framework, reflects SME Bank’s effort to expand economic opportunities for asnaf and underserved communities by combining seed capital, structured training, mentorship and market access.
