Gas Malaysia Advances Kedah LNG Terminal Plan With Tokyo Gas and VTTI

Shah Alam, 8 June 2026 – Gas Malaysia Berhad has taken a major step toward expanding Malaysia’s LNG infrastructure with the signing of a Joint Development Agreement with Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd. and VTTI B.V. for a proposed regasification terminal in Yan, Kedah.

The project, known as RGT Yan, is planned as an offshore floating storage and regasification unit near Pulau Bunting. Once developed, it is expected to create a new LNG entry point in northern Peninsular Malaysia, strengthening supply flexibility and improving the resilience of the country’s gas system.
