Kuala Lumpur, 26 May 2026 – Bursa Malaysia opened lower on Tuesday as investors locked in gains following the previous session’s weakness, with early profit-taking weighing on selected heavyweights and broader market sentiment.

At 9.02am, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI slipped 1.67 points, or 0.1%, to 1,706.83 from Monday’s close of 1,708.50. The benchmark index opened slightly softer at 1,706.77, signalling a cautious start as investors assessed weaker crude oil prices, easing geopolitical concerns and the near-term direction of regional risk appetite.
