Malaysia Showcases Community-Led Public Housing Model at World Urban Forum 13

BAKU, 19 May 2026 – Malaysia has brought its public housing experience to the global urban agenda with the launch of From Roof to Resilience: A Social Assessment of Malaysia’s Public Housing at the 13th session of the World Urban Forum in Baku, Azerbaijan.

The publication was launched by Housing and Local Government Minister YB Nga Kor Ming, who is also President of the United Nations Habitat Assembly. Published by Think City, the book highlights how stronger resident participation, local leadership and community stewardship can help create more liveable, resilient and sustainable public housing communities.
