Beijing, 11 June 2026 – Xiaomi has filed with Chinese regulators to introduce a new extended-range electric vehicle, signalling the technology group’s latest push to broaden its fast-growing automotive business beyond fully battery-powered models.
The filing with China’s industry ministry marks another step in Xiaomi’s attempt to deepen its presence in one of the world’s most competitive electric vehicle markets. The proposal remains subject to regulatory approval after a public comment period that runs until June 17.
