New York, 17 July 2026 – US stock index futures fell sharply as a broadening sell-off in semiconductor shares forced investors to reassess elevated artificial intelligence valuations and the sustainability of record spending on data-centtre infrastructure.

Nasdaq 100 futures dropped about 1.7%, pointing to another difficult session for technology stocks following steep losses across semiconductor companies in the previous trading day.
