Tokyo, 17 July 2026 – UBS is strengthening its debt underwriting operations in Japan with a senior appointment, as the Swiss banking group seeks to capture rising corporate bond issuance and deepen its investment-banking presence in one of Asia’s most active capital markets.
The move forms part of UBS’s wider expansion in Japan, where companies are increasingly turning to debt markets to fund acquisitions, capital expenditure, shareholder returns and business restructuring.
