Standard Chartered Raises Income Target as Wealth Earnings Accelerate

Hong Kong, 29 July 2026 – Standard Chartered has raised its full-year income target after a 9% increase in first-half pretax profit, as wealth management and global banking generated stronger revenue. The result reinforces the bank’s exposure to affluent clients and cross-border flows across Asia, Africa and the Middle East.

Pretax profit reached US$4.78 billion for the first six months, up from US$4.38 billion a year earlier and above the average estimate compiled from analysts. The bank now expects annual income growth around the middle of its 5% to 7% range, compared with earlier guidance closer to the lower end.
