Singapore’s First Arts University Commencement Signals a New Creative-Economy Talent Pipeline

Singapore, 2 August 2026 – Singapore’s first university dedicated to the arts will hold its inaugural commencement on 7 August, bringing graduands from LASALLE College of the Arts and Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts together under the University of the Arts Singapore banner for the first time.

The ceremony at Singapore EXPO marks more than an academic milestone. It is the first visible output from a higher-education structure designed to give arts training a university-level platform while retaining the distinct institutional identities of LASALLE and NAFA. Since August 2024, the two institutions have offered bachelor’s and master’s programmes awarded by the university, creating a consolidated pathway for students entering Singapore’s creative industries.
