Singapore Sets AI and STEM Priorities for New ASEAN Education Plan

Singapore, 22 July 2026 – Singapore has proposed artificial intelligence, science and technology education, and holistic student development as central priorities under ASEAN’s new five-year plan to build a more adaptable regional workforce.

The ASEAN Work Plan on Education 2026–2030 was launched during the 14th ASEAN Education Ministers’ Meeting, as governments confront rapid technological change, shifting economic conditions and growing demand for workers equipped with both technical and interpersonal capabilities.
