Singapore Raises 2026 Growth Forecast After GDP Expands 5.9%

Singapore, 11 August 2026 – Singapore raised its 2026 economic growth forecast to 4.5%–5.5% after second-quarter gross domestic product expanded 5.9% from a year earlier, supported by a stronger global artificial-intelligence investment cycle and a less severe impact from Middle East supply disruptions than initially feared.

The revised forecast is substantially higher than the previous 2%–4% range. Second-quarter growth also exceeded the advance estimate of 5.7%, while first-half GDP expanded 6.1%. On a seasonally adjusted quarter-on-quarter basis, the economy grew 1.4% between April and June, above the preliminary estimate of 1.1%.
