Singapore, 22 September 2026 – Singapore’s Online Safety Commission received more than 500 reports during its first two months of operation, an early measure of public demand for a dedicated route to address harmful online content. More than 90% of cases referred to platforms were resolved, according to the reported figures. That percentage applies to referred cases, not to every report received, a distinction that matters when judging the new regulator’s performance.
The commission began operating on 29 June and handles categories of online harm that can have serious personal and commercial consequences. The early caseload spans doxxing, harassment, intimate-image abuse, stalking and child sexual abuse material. Reported category shares were 44%, 38%, 8%, 7% and 3% respectively; those labels describe the mix presented and should not be interpreted as a definitive prevalence survey of all content on the internet.
