SD Guthrie Profit Jumps 44% to RM1.5 Billion Despite Lower Revenue

Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, 11 August 2026 – SD Guthrie recorded net profit of more than RM1.5 billion for the first half of 2026, a 44% year-on-year increase, even as revenue declined to RM9.6 billion from RM9.9 billion.

The improvement was driven by stronger contributions from the downstream and industrial-development businesses, showing how the group’s diversified portfolio offset weaker top-line performance. The result also indicates a meaningful expansion in profitability rather than growth dependent solely on higher sales.
