São Paulo, 17 September 2026 – Petrobras is increasing its diesel A selling price to distributors by R$1 per litre while applying an equal discount linked to a new government subsidy. The matched adjustment is designed to leave the effective amount charged to distributors unchanged, making the announcement a financing and policy mechanism rather than an immediate increase in the net price paid at that stage of the supply chain.

The change takes effect today, with the subsidy arrangement covering 30 days. According to the company’s explanation, the discount fully offsets the announced adjustment. The mechanism should not be described as a net price reduction either: a R$1 increase and a R$1 discount cancel each other for the distributor’s effective charge.
