Kuala Lumpur, 12 October 2026 – Malaysia’s High Court will hear a committal application against blogger Wan Muhammad Azri Wan Deris before considering an inter-partes injunction sought by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission. The procedural decision places alleged non-compliance with an existing court order ahead of the broader dispute and gives investors another reminder that digital regulation is becoming a material governance issue.
Judicial Commissioner Datuk Dr Arik Sanusi Yeop Johari allowed the commission’s preliminary objection and fixed both matters for 23 December.
