San Francisco, 16 September 2026 – OpenAI is reported to be in early discussions about a potential financing at a valuation above US$1.2 trillion, a level that would test how far investors are willing to capitalise future artificial-intelligence growth. The talks are preliminary and the company has not confirmed a transaction, so valuation claims require caution.

The company previously closed about US$122 billion of committed capital at a reported US$852 billion post-money valuation. It has said revenue is running near US$2 billion a month, with enterprise customers contributing more than 40% and expected to approach parity with consumer revenue by the end of 2026.
