KUALA LUMPUR, 24 November 2025 — MISC Bhd reported a sharp rise in net profit to RM541.8 million for its third quarter ended 30 September 2025 (3Q 2025), up from RM338.9 million a year earlier, driven by the transition of a floating, production, storage and offloading (FPSO) unit from the construction phase to operational status.
Revenue for the quarter declined to RM2.79 billion from RM2.96 billion previously, according to the company’s filing with Bursa Malaysia.
For the nine-month period, MISC recorded a net profit of RM1.71 billion, up from RM1.63 billion a year ago, while cumulative revenue fell to RM8.33 billion from RM9.93 billion.
Segment Outlook: Firm Tanker Market and Stable Offshore Demand
MISC said the petroleum and products segment is expected to remain firm for the rest of 2025, supported by:
- increased OPEC+ output
- steady tonne-mile demand along US–Asia trade routes
The Group added that the offshore segment continues to benefit from a favourable global energy outlook, with sustained investment in upstream exploration and production.
In the marine and heavy engineering segment, the company noted that market conditions remain stable despite ongoing geopolitical tensions and trade policy uncertainties.
Dividend Declaration: 8 Sen Per Share
The Board approved a third tax-exempt dividend of 8 sen per share, amounting to RM357.1 million for the financial year 2025.
The dividend entitlement date is 9 December, with payment scheduled for 18 December 2025.
Prospects: LNG Spot Rates Under Pressure
Looking ahead, MISC said liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier spot charter rates are likely to remain soft due to:
- vessel oversupply from strong newbuild deliveries
- an increasing number of vessels coming off long-term charters
- high inventory levels in Europe
- subdued demand in Asia
These factors are expected to place sustained downward pressure on LNG spot charter rates for the remainder of the year.
