Malaysia Aligns GLIC Investments with National Growth Priorities Through GEAR-uP

Kuala Lumpur, 22 July 2026 – Malaysia is aligning the investment direction of government-linked investment companies and public funds with national development priorities through the GEAR-uP programme and the strategic role of the Minister of Finance Incorporated.

Deputy Finance Minister Liew Chin Tong said the approach is intended to mobilise institutional capital towards building sustainable industries, competitive Malaysian companies and more secure livelihoods.
