Seoul, 13 August 2026 – Korea Investment Holdings has been named preferred bidder for KDB Life Insurance, advancing a transaction that could add a life-insurance platform to a financial group built around securities, asset management and investment banking.
The selection marks a critical stage rather than a completed acquisition. Korea Development Bank is seeking to sell its 99.66% stake in KDB Life after repeated attempts stretching back to 2014. The state-owned lender entered the process aiming to select a preferred bidder in the third quarter and complete a transaction within the year, subject to negotiations and regulatory approvals.
