Kuala Lumpur, 11 August 2026 – Hong Kong has officially inaugurated its new Economic and Trade Office (HKETO) in Kuala Lumpur, marking a strategic milestone in the Special Administrative Region’s drive to expand economic, investment, and trade partnerships across Southeast Asia. Speaking at the official opening ceremony on Tuesday, Hong Kong’s Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr. Algernon Yau, highlighted the establishment of the permanent facility as a major bridge for bilateral cooperation.
