GB Bond opened above its IPO price and will invest proceeds in Penang capacity and a Vietnam sales office. The shareholder test is whether new orders fill that capacity profitably.

Kuala Lumpur, 1 October 2026 – GB Bond Holdings opened its first day on Bursa Malaysia’s ACE Market at RM0.255 a share, two per cent above its RM0.25 initial public offering price. The Penang-based industrial-adhesives maker raised RM16.08 million through its public issue and is directing a substantial portion of those proceeds toward additional production capacity and a sales office in Vietnam. The listing gives investors a clear near-term question: can the company build enough orders to justify the extra plant and regional selling costs?

At the opening price, GB Bond’s 412.30 million issued shares implied a market value of about RM105.14 million. An opening premium is a snapshot of initial trading, not proof of a durable valuation. Future returns will depend less on the first price print than on whether the IPO-funded projects raise revenue and profit without tying up excessive working capital.
