Kuala Lumpur, 16 October 2026 – The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI closed at 1,607.76 points on Friday, down 15.94 points or 0.98% from its 1,623.70 reference level. Trading value reached RM3.271 billion on volume of 3.132 billion shares, after the benchmark moved between an intraday low of 1,602.98 and high of 1,626.34.

The market figures are confirmed; attributing the entire decline to one data point would overstate what a single session can establish.
