Sydney, 8 September 2026 – A consortium led by Malaysia’s Gamuda Engineering and involving Hong Kong’s MTR Corporation has secured an A$880 million contract to design and construct Parramatta Metro station, its precinct and developments above and beside the site. The project forms part of Sydney Metro West and combines transport infrastructure with housing, student accommodation, offices and a hotel.

The Riverside Link Consortium includes two Gamuda subsidiaries and MTR’s Australian arm. Plans provide 470 build-to-rent apartments and 500 student units, while the wider precinct includes a 43-storey residential tower, a 29-storey commercial tower, a 24-storey student building and an eight-storey hotel. The station is targeted for completion by 2032 and should cut Parramatta-city travel to about 20 minutes.
