Kuala Lumpur, 5 November 2026 – Ferrotec has opened its second manufacturing plant in Kulim, Kedah, expanding its Malaysian base for semiconductor equipment components as the group continues to invest in the region. The facility in Padang Meha was officially opened on 28 October, while the release issued on 5 November sets out a production ramp target for 2027 and more than 1,000 additional high-value jobs for skilled Malaysian workers.

The new plant follows the first Kulim facility, which involved an initial investment of more than RM900 million and began operating in January 2024. Ferrotec subsequently committed a further RM1 billion to expand its presence in the area, bringing the stated cumulative investment for the two plants to approximately RM1.9 billion. The figure represents the group’s investment commitment across both sites, rather than a separate amount allocated solely to Plant 2.
