Sydney, 13 August 2026 – Commonwealth Bank of Australia delivered a higher annual profit and increased its final dividend, but a steep decline in home-loan applications signalled that policy changes and tighter household conditions may be cooling the country’s most important credit market.
Australia’s largest bank reported annual profit of about A$10.9 billion for the year ended June. Cash profit was close to A$11 billion, while the fully franked final dividend rose by A$0.10 to A$2.70 per share. The distribution takes the full-year dividend to approximately A$5.05, reinforcing the bank’s position as a major income holding for domestic investors.
