Miami, 1 August 2026 – Capital One has said an anti-money-laundering review led it to close more than 300 accounts connected to the Trump Organization in 2021, challenging allegations that the banking relationship was terminated because of political considerations.
The explanation was presented in a federal court filing as the bank sought the dismissal of a lawsuit brought by the Donald J. Trump Revocable Trust, several affiliated companies and Eric Trump. The plaintiffs have accused Capital One of improperly denying them banking services because of their political associations and conservative views.
