Kuala Lumpur, 10 August 2026 – Bursa Malaysia began the week on a firmer footing, following gains on Wall Street as investors weighed softer United States employment data against geopolitical uncertainty and elevated oil prices.
At 9.09am, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI rose 0.21 point to 1,735.96 from Friday’s close of 1,735.75. The benchmark had opened 0.10 point higher at 1,735.85, signalling a measured rather than aggressive return of risk appetite.
